I am changing career or function
Our verdictProbably not an MBA — a one-year diploma is usually the better buy.
Changing function is a specialisation problem, not a seniority problem. A two-year general MBA spends most of its time on breadth you do not need, at four times the cost of the thing you do need.
What to check
- A one-year PG diploma in the target function costs a third and takes half the time.
- Take the MBA if you are changing function and level at once, or if a rule names a degree.
- Be honest about which one you are actually doing.
